Hospital, CTMC reduce operations for Thanksgiving
General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital will reduce its operations, Nov. 26 and 27, to celebrate Thanksgiving.

All outpatient clinics and pharmacies, including the PX Branch Pharmacy, will be closed for patient visits, Nov. 26 and 27. All hospital operations resume normal hours, Nov. 30.

While the main hospital reduces operations, the emergency room will be fully operational to manage emergency situations. The ER telephone number is 596.0456. Chronic conditions or routine follow-up evaluations should be made through the GLWACH appointment system at 866.299.4234.

The Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic will be closed for patient visits, Nov. 26. It will resume regular hours, Nov. 27. Soldiers needing emergency medical care during this time should visit the emergency room.

Questions during this period should be directed to the GLWACH Staff Duty Officer at 596.1784/1787 or to the emergency room staff.  



Estate claim

Anyone having claims against the estate of Staff Sgt. Daniel Smith of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, or knowing of assets belonging to Smith, should contact the Summary Court Officer, Capt. Terence Staples, 701st Military Police Battalion, at 910.922.5373.



Weather delay information
Fort Leonard Wood personnel can stay in tune with weather delays, cancellations and other winter related information by calling the Snow and Ice Removal automated line at 563.4141, or by checking the post Web site at www.wood.army.mil. In addition, the following radio stations air updates on road conditions, reporting delays and school closures:

GLWACH reduces operations, Nov. 30
General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital will reduce its operations from 2  to 4:30 p.m., Nov. 30, so staff can attend an internal function.

All outpatient clinics will be closed for patient visits during this time. All pharmacies, including the PX Branch Pharmacy, will dispense medication with reduced staffing. All hospital operations return to normal, Dec. 1.

While the main hospital reduces operations, the emergency room will be fully operational to manage emergency situations. The ER telephone number is 596.0456. Chronic conditions or routine follow-up evaluations should be made through the GLWACH appointment system at 1.866.299.4234.

Open enrollment for health benefits
This year’s open season for federal employee health care runs through Dec. 14, Federal civilian employees can take action for the Federal Flexible Spending Account Program, Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

During this period, employees can:

- Enroll in a flexible spending account — a health care and/or dependent care account, under the FSAFEDS Program. Unlike with other programs, employees must re-enroll in FSAFEDS each year to participate. Enrollments do not carry over year-to-year.

- Enroll in, change or cancel an existing enrollment in a dental plan.

- Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a vision plan.

- Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a health plan.

FEHB business transactions are made at the Army Benefits Center-Civilian either by telephone at 1.877.276.9287, or on line at www.abc.army.mil at the Benefits/EBIS tab. You need the enrollment code of the health plan of your choice. You will find this code in the FEHB Plan Comparison Guide, RI 70-1, or in the appropriate plan brochure.

Additionally, these plan comparison charts are accessible from the OPM Web page at www.opm.gov/insure.  If your enrollment is for self and family coverage, you will need each family members’ Social Security Number and date of birth.

Open Season changes are effective the first day of the first full pay period that begins in January 2010. Generally, mid-year changes are effective on the first day of the pay period which begins after your enrollment is received.
