Hippity hoppity: Easter Bunny on its way to April events Print E-mail

Spring has definitely sprung, and the Easter Bunny is making its way here for a number of upcoming activities.

Families can enjoy several events on and off Fort Leonard Wood. On post, the Installation Bunny Egg Hunt is scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the baseball complex on Minnesota Avenue.

Open to children from infants through age 12, events include a visit from the Easter Bunny starting at 9 a.m., followed by a series of egg hunts starting at 10 a.m. in four age categories: 0 to 3 years; 4 to 5 years; 6 to 8 years, and 9 to 12 years.

Egg hunt participants are invited to stick around for the annual Child, Youth and School Services’ annual Fun Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Child Development Center, Bldg. 615.

  -- On Easter Sunday, April 12, you can enjoy an Easter Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ballroom at Pershing Community Center.  Cost is $13.95 for adults; $6.95 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. Reservations are required. Call 329.2455 for details.

  -- Also on April 12, the Easter Bunny Bowl takes place at Daugherty Bowling Center.

Participating children can receive an Easter egg along with candy and prizes. For more information, call 596.1498.

The Easter Bunny will make its way to Rolla, the morning of April 11 for “Breakfast With The Bunny.”

From 8 to 9 a.m., parents can bring their cameras to The Centre, 1200 Hollaway Street, and take pictures of their children with the Easter Bunny.

Kids can also enjoy several games and activities, and Arts Rolla volunteers will paint faces.

A series of egg hunts are planned starting at 9:45 a.m., starting with a hunt for kids from 0 to 3 years, followed by kids ages 4 to 6 and 7 and older.

The event is free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required.
